Colleen Hoover Makes Book Confession Amid Justin Baldoni-Blake Lively Clash

Colleen Hoover says that the legal fallout between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni has left her shaken. This happened after the release of the film based on her bestseller book It Ends With Us. She is ready to stay out of the spotlight and would rather not talk about the controversy at all. She feels that the whole thing is “unfortunate” and compared the allegations to a circus.

Colleen Hoover says she’s ‘almost embarrassed’ about writing It Ends With Us

Colleen Hoover mentioned that the legal fight between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni has had real consequences. It has even affected how she feels about the book that meant the most to her. The author expressed, “It feels like a circus. When there are real people involved, with real feelings and emotions. This actually truly has impacted some of the actors’ careers in huge ways. And I just find it all around sad.”

Adding, she said, ” I’m just trying to stay removed from the negativity. I have my own story I could tell … but I don’t want to bring attention to it, and I don’t want to have to put someone else down to lift myself up. So I’d rather just ignore it and let people think and say what they’re going to say. I feel like it’s so big at this point that there’s nothing anyone can say to change whatever opinion people have of it, even though no one has the actual truth. Not even me.” (via Elle)

The movie became the center of a legal battle after Blake Lively filed a lawsuit accusing Justin Baldoni and his company of sexual harassment. In retaliation, Baldoni has denied the claims and filed a $400 million countersuit. A trial in Lively’s suit is scheduled for March 2026.

Hoover said that she is preparing to give a deposition for the case. Given that It Ends With Us is based on her mother’s experience with domestic abuse, Hoover revealed that the controversy has been especially painful for her family.
