He shared a heartfelt Instagram video and opened up about how he felt upon learning that he had been nominated for three Grammy Awards. The post was captioned, “How I REALLY feel about the Grammys…And I look like a ninja turtle.”
In the Instagram video, he is seen talking candidly to his viewers, wearing a black cap backward and a black jacket.
He begins the video with a warm greeting, joking that everyone must have figured out by now that he looks like a “Ninja Turtle.” He also talks about the reason he started growing a beard in the first place.
The rapper explained, “You know one of the reasons I even started growing a beard was because I was so obese. It was just easier to cover up what was happening here, you know,” pointing at his neck.
Apparently, the “Need a Favor” singer reportedly lost over 200 pounds in around 3 years. The singer has been open about his weight loss journey, allowing people to see his struggles and wins.
The 40-year-old also got emotional while talking about his Grammy nominations. He expressed gratitude for getting three nominations and talked about how every artist dreams of this day and rehearses their speech. He went on to say that these nominations are God’s work.
