Jimmy Kimmel responds to Donald Trump’s rant

Donald Trump recently criticized ABC’s decision to keep Jimmy Kimmel on air via Truth Social.

Trump posted that Kimmel has “no talent” and “very poor television ratings.” He also wondered why TV syndicates tolerated Kimmel, accusing him of “biased coverage” and demanding he be taken off air.

Kimmel responded to Trump’s post in the latest episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! He recalled being unfazed about the president’s post demanding his firing, which he learned of from his wife after waking up in the morning.

The comedian jokingly thanked Trump for watching his show. He also pointed out the irony of the president keeping him on air by watching him on TV instead of YouTube.

Kimmel mocked Trump’s knowledge of ratings by showing a montage of news channels discussing Trump’s poor approval ratings for his second term.

The comedian said he has “honestly lost count” of the number of times Trump has called for him to be fired.

Kimmel then called Trump a “snowflake,” adding, “Every five weeks, he flips out and wants me fired.” He joked that getting a “restraining order” was not an issue due to the number of threats Trump has issued against him. “The judge would be like, ‘Yeah, sounds like the guy’s nuts,'” he added.

Moreover, Kimmel recalled Trump’s attempt to get him fired in September, jokingly expressing admiration for the president’s “tenacity.” Kimmel continued, “If you’re watching tonight, which I presume you are, how about this: I’ll go when you go, OK? We’ll be a team.” He then quipped, “Let’s ride off into the sunset together like Butch Cassidy and the Suntan Kid.”

Kimmel concluded by referencing Trump’s recent outburst at a journalist. He added, “And until then – if I may borrow a phrase from you… quiet, Piggy!”
