New reports claim that both Prince Harry and Prince William may share one surprising goal — the preservation of the monarchy — but for very different reasons. According to sources, Harry hopes to see the institution survive for the sake of his children. However, William is allegedly focused on shaping it into a streamlined, scandal-free future. Both are reportedly looking to the future, but with different visions.
Prince William is ‘laser-focused’ on the ‘endurance’ of the monarchy, claims source
Radar Online reported that Prince Harry and Prince William’s relationship has remained difficult since the former and his wife, Meghan Markle, moved to California in 2020. However, both want to preserve the monarchy.
Though the couple’s repeated criticisms of royal life have only deepened the divide, there is a twist. Insiders claim that Harry’s perspective has reportedly shifted while he raises Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet away from the royal fold.
Besides, those close to him claimed that the Duke of Sussex wants to ensure that the monarchy remains stable. It is not necessarily for his own role in it, but as a legacy for his son and daughter.
Meanwhile, sources added that Prince William has a very different attitude. After appearing on Eugene Levy’s “The Reluctant Traveler” earlier this year, the Prince of Wales hinted that he intends to make significant changes once he becomes king. Insiders claimed this includes removing family members who could bring further controversy to the crown.
Royal commentator Hilary A. Fordwich said, “King Charles might try to let Harry and Meghan do more, but I can tell you Prince William has no tolerance for that.” Fordwich further claimed, “He does not trust his brother.” She added, “He basically does not want to address it” and “doesn’t want to have anything else to do with him.”
Furthermore, per Fordwich, William regards both Prince Harry and Prince Andrew as obstacles to his long-term mission. She claimed, “William is laser-focused on the endurance of the monarchy.” She added, “He is more concerned and sees them as a liability more than his father ever did.”
A senior courtier added, “People expect William to be iron-fisted in his mission to protect the monarchy – and preserve it for his 12-year-old son and heir, Prince George.”
