Ex-Prince Andrew ‘Feeling Humble’ Not His ‘Nature’ Amid Scandal — Expert

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly known as Prince Andrew, resurfaced earlier this week after keeping an unusually low profile. The former prince was photographed on Monday riding a horse across the Windsor estate, marking his first public appearance since losing his royal titles and being ordered to vacate his longtime residence, the Royal Lodge. Despite reports that he was being evicted, Andrew is still living at the 30-room mansion. He has shared the home with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, for over two decades, and he has yet to move out. For now, he remains at the Royal Lodge as he waits to be relocated to the Sandringham estate early next year.

As Andrew spends his final weeks at the Royal Lodge, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond believes he is grappling with humiliation and frustration. “I’m sure he’s feeling humiliated and, by all accounts, angry,” Bond told The Mirror. “You have to remember that he has consistently protested his innocence. Therefore, he feels wronged,” she added.

Bond stressed that Andrew’s feelings, however, do not change the reality facing him, saying, “He now has just a few weeks left before he has to leave Royal Lodge, which has been his home for more than 20 years.” Andrew is expected to move into a smaller residence on the Sandringham estate in Norfolk at the start of the new year.

According to Bond, adjusting to everyday responsibilities could prove challenging. “I don’t think Andrew is the sort of person who will ever feel humble,” she said. “That’s not in his nature. I think he will expect to have staff in his new home, as I don’t imagine he has the first idea about how to cook, clean or shop,” she added. According to insiders, the former Duke of York feels isolated and deeply humiliated. They say he has slipped into depression and fear he may pull back even further from public life once he moves to Sandringham.
