It’s been a whirlwind few weeks for Fátima Bosch … not least because she was just crowned Miss Universe.
Mexico’s Fátima went viral earlier this month when a heated confrontation with pageant executive Nawat Itsaragrisil prompted several contestants to walk out. The incident was broadcast to the world via livestream, and Fátima later called Nawat out, branding him disrespectful. Now, the pair have reunited, and things appear to have smoothed over between them.
Miss Universe Fátima Bosch and Nawat Itsaragrisil have reunited after her big win
In a TikTok captured in the moments after Fátima’s win, she reunited with Nawat for the first time since their confrontation. Fátima and Nawat are seen shaking hands and exchanging a few words as she places her hand over her heart. They appear to have a heartfelt moment, which ends with a traditional Thai gesture: a bow.
“All is well,” the caption of the video said – although fans in the comments section didn’t agree. “Before and after crowning Miss Universe, Nawat treated Mexico differently,” one person said, branding the interaction as “fake.”
In another video, shared to Instagram, Fátima appeared to ask Nawat to accompany her on stage at a post-crowning event. “Fátima with no hard feelings towards Nawat,” the caption said. “A Queen in the whole extent of the word!”
Following her confrontation with Nawat, which prompted the walkout, Fátima said in an Instagram interview that he was “not respectful.” Recalling what happened, she said Nawat had called her “dumb” but was grateful it was all caught on camera. “I think that the world needs to see this because we are empowered women and this is a platform for our voice,” she said.
