Rizo Velovic has been a critical player throughout the entirety of Survivor 49 so far. After starting the season on the Uli Tribe, Rizo became a prominent member of the tribe. He continued to hold a power position in the game after he was later swapped onto the New and Newer Hina Tribes.

After making the merge, Rizo continued to improve as a player and has become one of the most talked-about contestants this season. Out of the eight remaining players, Rizo is currently the most deserving of a win this season.

While many of the players this season have had ups and downs, Rizo has consistently been playing at the top of the pack. Out of everyone this season, Rizo is the most well-rounded player so far. If he can make it to the Final Tribal Council, Rizo currently has a good shot of winning the million-dollar prize.

Rizo is an excellent strategic player on Survivor 49

So far, Rizo has shown excellent strategic skills in the game. Rizo is a good social player and was able to connect to everyone fairly well on the initial Uli Tribe. He was able to make everyone feel comfortable, even those who he wasn’t working closely with. When he found the Beware Advantage, he shared it with everyone on the tribe to gain trust. This helped the original Uli tribe to really become “Uli strong”, which has helped Rizo’s game in the Merge.

Rizo has also been strategic when it comes to targeting players. While the majority of his fellow players wanted to target Sophie Segreti at the final nine vote, he knew that wasn’t the best move. Rizo saw keeping Sophie as an asset to his game, as he knew she would be willing to work with him moving forward. Instead, Rizo led the blindside of MC Chukwujekwu, who was unlikely to work with Rizo at any point.

Rizo has impressed viewers by making it through several Tribal Councils with a very public Immunity Idol

The New Era of Survivor has seen a lot of players go home with idols in their pocket. While many Immunity Idols do become public knowledge, Rizo’s is as public as can be. There’s not a single player on the beach who doesn’t know about his advantage. Usually, when an idol is such public knowledge, the other players try to blindside its owner to flush it. Rizo hasn’t won any Individual Immunity challenges, so he’s been vulnerable at every Tribal Council of the Merge.

Despite some of the contestants discussing voting Rizo out, it still hasn’t happened. Rizo has now made it through three Tribal Councils, where it’s been known that he has an Idol. First, the majority of the tribe decided to target Nate Moore over Rizo. At the final nine, Rizo avoided votes by leading the blindside against MC. Later on during the final eight, Rizo was able to make it through yet another vote with his Idol, after he helped to send Alex Moore home. This is incredibly impressive on Rizo’s part and definitely shows that he has the resume to win Survivor 49.

Rizo is one of the most likable players on the Survivor 49 cast

While being strategic is important on Survivor, being likable is equally important. At the Final Tribal Council, the jury typically wants to crown someone who was liked and respected by their peers. Rizo has been one of the most likable cast members this season, who has easily made friends with his quirky and light-hearted personality. He gets along well with everyone, and even those who aren’t working closely with him nonetheless enjoy his company.

Rizo is an extremely well-rounded player who truly deserves to win Survivor 49. He has been strategic while playing a strong social game. If Rizo continues to play his cards correctly, he can easily make it to the Final Tribal Council, and potentially even win.

Survivor is available to stream on Paramount+.
