MrBeast Says It Feels Like YouTubers Live on ‘Separate Planets’

MrBeast recently stated that he believes that the YouTube community should be more tight-knit like Twitch. The 27-year-old content creator shared his opinion on his official X account, garnering 3K comments, 986 retweets, 26K likes, and 1K saves on his post as of writing.

MrBeast wants YouTubers to be like Twitch streamers

MrBeast compared the YouTube community to Twitch streamers. He tweeted, “How do we get the YouTube community more tight knit like the Twitch streaming community? They’re always collabing, hosting award shows, etc.” Continuing, he wrote, “Feels like YouTubers are on separate planets.”

Youtuber Asmongold replied, “Trust me, it’s better this way,” to which MrBeast simply responded, “lol.” The aforementioned post went viral on social media, with various users sharing their take on the matter.

One user commented, “YouTube should have never got rid of YouTube Gaming. They probably need a separate YouTube Streaming app, like the Gaming app. The current YT app is like too many chefs spoiling the soup. Too much going on: Streams, Vids, Vods, Shorts, Community tabs, etc.”

Another user suggested that YouTube could do more pro-community events like Twitch streamers hosting Twitchathon. The user wrote, “Yeah, I get that. YouTube feels fragmented. Twitch’s collaborative events like TwitchCon bring their community together. YouTubers could start smaller, like regular gaming nights or collab channels?”

Another user shared they believe that YouTube focuses more on solo brand building, versus Twitch, which focuses more on communities. The user commented, “YouTube culture rewards solo success more than community building. Twitch thrives on live interaction—hosting, raids, collabs—because it’s built into the platform. YouTube would need structural incentives to get that level of togetherness.”

One user suggested ways YouTube could be more creator-friendly and community-oriented. The user posted, “YouTube creators are bigger but more isolated. Twitch forces community through live interaction; maybe YouTube needs built-in collab tools, shared events, or creator-driven hubs.”

MrBeast recently announced the launch of Beast Games Season 2. On November 24, he posted, “Largest video floor in the world, I’M SO EXCITED FOR SEASON 2 OF BEAST GAMES.”
