Padma Lakshmi and Melissa King have been at the center of romance rumors for quite some time now. The speculations began after the “Top Chef” host and the “Top Chef” season 17 winner celebrated Halloween in a couple’s costume. Padma Lakshmi and Melissa King sent fans into a frenzy after they shared their couples’ Halloween costumes on Instagram this year. On November 1, the host and model of “The Chef” shared a carousel of these Halloween special photographs on the social media platform. The caption of the post read, “They’re creepy and they’re kooky…” The stills captured them dressed up as Morticia and Gomez Addams.

Since then, rumors about Melissa King and Padma Lakshmi dating each other have been circulating on the internet. However, as reported by Us Weekly, a source told them that the chef and the host are “just close friends.” The person continued that the two have known one another for several years, but “they’re not dating.”

In the meantime, the insider further said to the news outlet that “There’s nothing romantic going on” between Padma Lakshmi and Melissa King. The person then added that “There’s no validity to the rumors” about their romance. The television host and the chef first met on the set of “The Chef” season 12.

Melissa King, a contestant, did not win the trophy in the 12th season. However, she returned to the competition in season 17 and won that time. Per the news outlet, at that time, Padma Lakshmi praised the chef on Facebook by writing, “Melissa King, you really came into your own this season on Top Chef.” “It’s been such a pleasure to watch you blossom into a confident, on point and innovative chef,” she added.
