Ashley Tisdale reveals her struggles with TMJ disorder and relief treatment
Ashley Tisdale revealed her TMJ disorder and relief treatment in a recent interview. She told OK! Magazine that the symptoms started a few years back when the actor was facing “a really busy time at work.” Initially, the “High School Musical” alum ignored the painful sensations around her jaw as a sign of stress.
Later, things got worse when her “jaw stayed tight” even though her body was “relaxed.” “I would wake up already clenching, with my jaw locked, and it would follow me into the day — through Zoom calls, workouts, even when I was trying to go to sleep,” Tisdale added. Eventually, the clenching and “tension” in her face overwhelmed her.
Furthermore, the 40-year-old explained that she used to feel like her jaw was forced into a “tiny, angry fist.” It led to headaches on a regular basis, followed by feeling lethargic and tired. “It’s such a weird thing to feel exhausted from your jaw,” she said.
To seek relief, the singer-businesswoman tried many remedies. From massages and night guards to acupuncture, she sought various kinds of help, including “injectables.” She claimed that the techniques helped her “a little,” but the “heavy, clamped-down feeling” still stayed. Finally, the “Suite Life of Zack & Cody” alum found what she was looking for.
Tisdale opted for Emface’s TMJ treatment, which didn’t require needles or any surgery. “Emface felt like something that could actually work with my body instead of just numbing it or patching the problem,” she mentioned.
