In a now-deleted post on X (formerly Twitter), Robert Kennedy Jr’s shared an image of Donald Trump and Elon Musk seated beside one another. The table is laden with traditional Thanksgiving foods. The image is quite similar to a 2024 photo that showed the same group in similar positions. However, they were eating McDonald’s. That similarity led many of Kennedy’s followers to think that the image shared by him is AI-generated.
Social media offered a wide range of takes. Some users felt like this was a sign of reconciliation between the two high-profile figures. After Donald Trump became President, his relationship with Elon Musk soured. They have had public disagreements in recent months. Others flagged the similarities to the older McDonald’s photo and questioned the origin of the image.
A user wrote on X, “No McD’s this time! Thankful for you all!!!” Another joked that the new meal was even more in line with their politics. They said, “That meal is WAY better and more MAHA than the original McDonald’s photo. Happy Thanksgiving.”
Skepticism grew partly because the earlier McDonald’s image of Donald Trump and Elon Musk is well-known. The new picture that was recently shared appears to contain the same poses, clothing, and expressions. Only the fast food is swapped for a roast turkey and sides. This prompted many to believe that the image is an AI edit.
A viewer wrote, “This is an AI mod of the fast food shot, isn’t it?” while another added, “How you wish it actually went down.”
