Eminem Takes Stage for ‘Electric’ Lions Thanksgiving Halftime Show

Eminem captivated fans with an “electric” Thanksgiving Halftime Show for the Detroit Lions on Thursday, November 27. Jack White performed The White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army” at the Lions’ annual Thanksgiving Day Classic event at Ford Field. However, everyone was surprised when the “Mockingbird” hitmaker and fellow Detroit icon took centre stage at the Halftime Show.

Eminem thrilled audiences with a surprise performance at the Thanksgiving Halftime Show on Thursday, November 27. He made a guest appearance at the annual Thanksgiving Day Classic at Ford Field. The 53-year-old rapper co-executive produced the event alongside his manager, Paul Rosenberg (via Billboard).

Mathers (his real name), donned a hoodie and custom-made Lions jacket, joined White and his band halfway through their performance. The superstar rapper performed a mashup of his past hit rap “Till I Collapse” with The White Stripes’ “Hello Operator.”

Mathers and White performed the mashup between the latter’s songs “That’s How I’m Feeling” and “Seven Nation Army” to deliver an unforgettable performance. This marked White and Mathers’ first stage collaboration.

Unsurprisingly, fans are raving about the “Lose Yourself” hitmaker’s “electric” performance. One user remarked, “Eminem deserves his own halftime show, especially in Detroit. Way more deserving and more influential than Kendrick Lamar and his patty-cake beef with Drake.”

A second user commented, “That was actually a really good halftime show!” Meanwhile, a third user wrote, “Best part of the show.”  Finally, a user penned, “That was truly Amazing!!!”

The electrifying show was the first event in a new three-year partnership between the Detroit Lions, Mathers and his manager Rosenberg, and Jesse Collins Entertainment. Notably, Jesse Collins Entertainment is known for producing previous Super Bowl halftime shows.

JCE executive VP Seth Dudowsky told Billboard that they were very keen on having Eminem and his manager on board. He shared, “We talked about how to put on a show that really represents the attributes and values of the city and is true to the Lions and true to what Eminem and Paul had established there.”

Notably, Eminem’s daughter, Hailie Jade, and her eight-month-old son, Elliot, were present in the audience for the rapper’s performance. Jade shared a brief clip on Instagram, holding her son on her hip and mouthing “grandpa” to him. She captioned the reel, “Happy Thanksgiving,” accompanied by a heart emoji.
