Ex-Prince Andrew Loses Salutes, Bows & Other Privileges — Source

Former Prince Andrew’s fall from grace appears to be getting even harder to ignore, and even the royal guards are reportedly refusing to salute him or bow to him. According to palace insiders, the ex-royal faced humiliation on a recent visit to Windsor Castle. There, the guards did not pay him formal respects, and he realized that the long-standing courtesies and privileges had now vanished.

Royal guards ‘didn’t salute’ Ex-Prince Andrew and bows also disappeared, says source

According to RadarOnline’s exclusive report, gone are the days when guards would salute and bow as ex-Prince Andrew passed by. A source told the outlet, “When Andrew showed up after losing his titles, the guards didn’t salute him and the formal bows he used to get everywhere had vanished.”

Insiders suggested the change left Andrew visibly uncomfortable. But the treatment did not end there, with another source claiming, “Some staff enjoy addressing him as Mr Mountbatten-Windsor instead of his former style.” In that, “they made a point of it.”

Andrew, who is accustomed to being greeted as “Your Royal Highness,” the shift to no salute or bow has reportedly hit him hard. People around him described his castle visit as a wake-up call, one that highlighted just how far his royal standing had sunk since his royal titles were taken away.

Besides, there is another blow. The palace has reportedly scrapped the special meal service that once sent dishes from the Windsor Castle kitchens straight to Andrew’s residence at Royal Lodge. A palace insider said, “It might seem like a small thing, but having meals sent from the castle meant a lot to Andrew. It was one of the few remnants of his old life.”

Another source explained, “He’d relied on that perk for so long.” They claimed, “When they informed him it was being stopped, he looked completely stunned, as if the rug had been pulled out from under him.” Now, these small setbacks seem to break any illusion that the former Duke of York still holds a place inside the royal circle.
