Mandy Moore says she has ‘overwhelming gratitude’ with Thanksgiving post
Mandy Moore is reflecting on a challenging chapter nearly a year after losing her Altadena, California, home in the Los Angeles wildfires that swept through the region in January. The actor shared a Thanksgiving message on Instagram on Nov. 27, acknowledging the emotional toll of the past several months while also highlighting what has remained most important to her. She described the past year as “pretty wild and difficult,” but noted that the “top line is definitely overwhelming gratitude.”
The actor, 41, paired her message with a set of black-and-white photographs featuring herself, her husband Taylor Goldsmith, and their three children- Gus Harrison, 4; Ozzie Bennett, 3; and 14-month-old Louise Everett. In her post, Moore wished followers a happy Thanksgiving and emphasized that she was “the most grateful for these four,” referring to her family.
According to E! News, following the destruction of their home earlier this year, Moore and her family relied heavily on their close support network as they adjusted to the aftermath.
Her brother-in-law, Griffin Goldsmith, has previously shared publicly that Hilary Duff and her husband, Matthew Koma, stepped in to assist immediately after the fire. He noted that the couple had welcomed Moore’s family into their home, writing at the time that they had “taken care of my entire family from the moment this began.”
Furthermore, he went on to describe their help as “the kindest act any human could do for another,” calling them “the most beautiful, selfless people we have ever known”.
