Ryan Seacrest, the former host for Live With Kelly, had a contentious moment during a sit-down interview with Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos. On Friday, November 28, Seacrest questioned Consuelos’s skills as a morning show host live on air after he was asked about his stint on Wheel of Fortune. The American Idol host sat alongside Kelly from 2017 to 2023 before being replaced by Ripa’s husband.
Mark admits he doesn’t watch Wheel of Fortune much
When Ryan Seacrest, Kelly Ripa, and Mark Consuelos were talking about Wheel of Fortune, which was formerly hosted by Pat Sajak, Mark asked a question that Seacrest found unusual.
“Are you doing the wheel ride?” Mark said, referring to the spins that the contestants perform on the game show.
“Mark, have you ever seen the show?” Ryan replied. “The host never spins the wheel. The contestant spins the wheel. It’s been weeknights for the last 43 years.”
Mark tried to explain that he doesn’t watch Wheel of Fortune much and typically does something else. “I’m at the gym,” he said.
However, Seacrest didn’t let that answer slide, asking Mark, “Do you do the research before the guests come on?”
Before the conversation became too awkward, Kelly stepped in to defend her husband. “He doesn’t read the cards right,” she confessed.
Ryan replied, “Do you have to brief him? I’m shocked.”
Kelly then showed her frustration with the situation, snapping at both of them. “I brief him but he doesn’t listen, much like you, he doesn’t listen.”
At the end of his run on Live With Kelly (formerly known as “Live With Kelly and Ryan” when he was on the show), Seacrest said he was exiting due to his hosting duties for American Idol, his radio show, and the opening of several Ryan Seacrest Foundation Studios.
Yesterday, Seacrest revealed his new athletic physique while showing off his gym workout.
