Queen Camilla reportedly has a new trusted aide. Major Ollie Plunket had been her right-hand man since 2022, first capturing many people’s attention with his good looks and a selfless act of kindness during the holiday season in December 2023. Ollie charmed hearts over the internet by using his sword to hang ornaments on a Christmas tree that year. This took place during a holiday celebration at Clarence House.
One of the Queen’s close confidantes was present for many of her major events. He accompanied her and King Charles to the Vatican in October for a visit with Pope Leo XIV. He also laid the Queen’s wreath at the Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday, an honor during the royal family’s appearance at the service in November.
Major Ollie Plunket has stepped down from his royal role alongside Queen Camilla

After over three years working closely with the Queen, Ollie is moving on. The Court Circular made the official announcement on Sunday that he’d be leaving his post. The announcement came after the Equerry became a member of the Royal Victorian Order. An Equerry is a British Armed Forces officer selected to assist senior royals with their official duties. Those terms usually last about three years.
His eye-catching looks at Clarence House made him a favorite among audiences. At the event, Camilla welcomed children supported by Helen & Douglas House and Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity to help decorate the tree at her and Charles’ home.
Ollie is an officer of The Rifles, the largest infantry regiment of the British Army, with Camilla serving as Colonel-in-Chief. In November, the Queen faced some backlash for her comments to Ruth Jones about her weight loss.
In a speech, the Queen thanked Ollie for his services to her, saying that he had excelled in everything he did. Taking his place as Equerry to the Queen is reportedly Major Rob Treasure, who is also a part of The Rifles.
