Tom Brady just voiced everyone’s thoughts with his latest demand. The NFL legend’s suggestion about a new holiday in a recent food and delivery service ad struck a chord nationwide. Fans were immediately on board, showing their resonance and extending their support towards the proposed concept.
Tom Brady and Druski team up to demand a new national holiday in ad
Tom Brady thinks that the day after the Super Bowl should be a national holiday, and he’s not alone. The NFL legend proved that he doesn’t joke around while making suggestions after he floated the notion in a new ad for food and delivery service Gopuff featuring him and comedian Druski. The duo even launched a campaign to make the Monday after the Super Bowl a federally recognized holiday.
“Nobody wants to work the Monday after the biggest game in football,” Brady says in the viral commercial. “That’s why Gopuff wants to help you give it a hard pass,” Druski chimes in. “What if we could pass on coffee runs?” he further adds.
Seeking viewers’ support in the ad, the seven-time Super Bowl Champion explained their plan to convert the dream into reality. “Gopuff is setting up a real political fund dedicated to making the Monday after the big game a national holiday,” Brady says while a graphic with the words “Super Monday Off Coalition” flashes on the screen.
The ad shows Druski cracking a light-hearted joke about the involvement of government officials and lobbying. Brady instantly chimes in, assuring viewers that they simply have to order on Gopuff and “they’ll handle the rest.”
Addressing the “Super Monday” topic in a press release, Gopuff said, “The Super Monday Off Coalition is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization dedicated to making the Monday after the Big Game a federally recognized holiday through advocacy and political action.”
Some compelling stats back the long-simmering idea. A UKG poll found 43% of employed Americans want the day to be a holiday. Additionally, the nation faces an estimated $3 billion loss in economic activity due to employees calling out after the Big Game. “Nobody wants to work the Monday after the biggest game in football,” Brady says in the campaign’s ad.
