She was followed by “approximately seven members of her entourage” and allegedly warned him not to share any information about her personal business with anyone.
Will Smith’s long-time friend accuses Jada of threatening his life
On December 1, PEOPLE obtained a complaint filed by Bilaal Salaam, who describes himself as Will Smith’s “best friend,” against Jada Pinkett Smith. He claimed that Jada confronted him in the lobby of Regency Calabasas Commons, where Will’s private birthday celebration was held on September 25, 2021. He asserted that at the time, she came with approximately seven members of her entourage and physically threatened him.
The complaint allegedly states that “[Jada Pinkett Smith] became verbally aggressive” and warned Bilaal Salaam that if he continues sharing her personal business with anyone, he would “end up missing or catch a bullet.” According to the filing, Jada “demanded” that Salaam sign a non-disclosure agreement or face the consequences. Following their confrontation, he claimed the verbal threats continued and that the actress’s team followed him to his car.
According to the filing, Salaam claimed he turned down a request from a mutual friend to help with “crisis management” following Will Smith and Chris Rock’s infamous Academy Awards moment. The complaint stated, “Plaintiff refused to perform tasks he believed were illegal, unethical, or morally compromising, stating his conscience would not allow him to be involved in any cover-up or deceptive PR campaign.”
Following his refusal to aid the PR campaign, Salaam claimed that he continued to receive threats from Will and Jada Pinkett Smith’s circle, including when he was writing the “whistleblower memoir.” He also claimed that a “retaliatory campaign” was “launched against him.”
