Kate Hudson and Hugh Jackman recently attended an award show in New York City and startled everyone with their confession. During an interview, Jackman revealed he and Hudson have been married for a long time. However, there was a catch. The actor was, in fact, joking about being married to his co-star. The stars said they felt like being married after playing on-screen love interests in their upcoming film, “Song Sung Blue.”

Hugh Jackman jokes about being married to Kate Hudson

Kate Hudson and Hugh Jackman recently appeared at the 2025 Gotham Awards in New York City on December 1. It was during the event when they joked that after filming their upcoming film, “Song Sung Blue,” they felt like a married couple.

During an exclusive interview with Page Six, Jackman said, “We only shot for 36 days, but it really does feel like we were married [for] a long time,” to which Hudson agreed immediately. “Yeah, we were married a very long time!” she added.

And it seems their fun did not stop there. According to PEOPLE, after attending the show, the duo partied at the Australian bar Old Mates Pub with creators network Syndicate11, where they sang a few songs from their upcoming film.

The actors, who play members of a Neil Diamond tribute band in the film, sang three Diamond hits: “Forever in Blue Jeans,” “Crunchy Granola Suite,” and “Sweet Caroline,” surprising the fans at the bar.

“We’re gonna sing a few songs. Well, when I say we, we all are going to sing a few songs, but I have a very special guest here tonight. Please make her welcome: the one, the only Kate Hudson!” he announced to the crowd, as per the outlet. And in no time, the fans joined the stars to “raise the roof.”

The movie “Song Sung Blue” is based on Greg Koh’s 2008 documentary. It tells the story of musicians, Mike Sardina (Jackman) and Claire Sardina (Hudson), and how this Milwaukee couple launched a Neil Diamond tribute band. The move will hit theatres on Christmas Day.
