Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson kept the night rolling after the 2025 Gotham Awards. The two got on with a sing-along that turned into a surprise concert at a quiet New York bar. The two stars partied after accepting the inaugural Gotham Musical Tribute award. It was for their roles in the recent film Song Sung Blue. The co-stars sang a bunch of Neil Diamond songs while Jackman’s girlfriend, Sutton Foster, was also present.

After the Gotham Awards, Hugh Jackman grabbed the mic at a local New York bar and called upon Kate Hudson. He announced, “Guys, it’s black tie, you didn’t get the memo? We’re gonna sing a few songs. Well, when I say we, we all are going to sing a few songs, but I have a very special guest here tonight. Please make her welcome: the one, the only Kate Hudson!” (via People)
After that, the two stars gave a warm and unplanned performance. They ran through a bunch of Neil Diamond numbers such as “Forever in Blue Jeans,” “Crunchy Granola Suite,” and the crowd favorite “Sweet Caroline.” Jackman even climbed on the bar to rally the audience, urging them to “raise the roof.” He closed the night by taking part in the venue’s tradition of ringing a bell for VIP guests.
Sutton Foster, Hugh Jackman’s girlfriend, came along for the night and watched the duo’s performance while recording parts of the set. She had accompanied him to the Gotham Awards, which were won by Jackman and Hudson “for their outstanding musical performances that capture the heart and soul of Neil Diamond’s timeless music on the big screen.”
Critics have been praising Kate Hudson for her role in Song Sung Blue. She has also earned an early Oscar buzz. However, the actress is focused on enjoying the moment. She said, “You never know with these things. I’ve been around now long enough to know just to enjoy that people are really loving the movie.” (via People)
