A very personal question seemed to strike a chord with Olivia Nuzzi. In a recent interview, the writer and West Coast editor of Vanity Fair was asked about her relationship with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. That story made headlines last year, eventually leading to the publication New York parting ways with her.
Olivia acknowledged having a personal relationship with the 2024 Presidential candidate but denied the notion that it was inappropriate. Some have said her admitting the relationship with the politician constituted a conflict of interest.

It seems Olivia is getting tired of revisiting her time with Robert in what some have deemed an inappropriate scandal. During an interview on The Bulwark Podcast, Tim Miller was seeking more details about their relationship. When the topic was brought up, Olivia asked, “Can we pause this?”
Tim pressed her, believing “there are more things I think you could reveal about him.” This seemed to get her choked up. After composing herself, Olivia says she gave readers enough information in her book about her relationship with Robert.
Last month, it was reported that her memoir American Canto could reveal racy texts between her and the current Secretary of Health and Human Services. Robert has been married to actress Cheryl Hines since 2014. He has six children, though none with the Curb Your Enthusiasm co-star.
In his interview, Tim says Robert had been trashing her, which left him wondering why Olivia, in his view, didn’t reveal more juicy details about him. Tim questioned whether or not this was because the editor loved him. He alleged that the author and journalist let Robert walk all over her. Tim went so far as to call her a “journalistic actor,” which made her cry.
Olivia says she was in a dark place after news of her relationship with Robert went public, saying she was very afraid. For his part, last year, Robert denied claims that he cheated on his wife.
