George Clooney pulled a prank on actress Meryl Streep by impersonating Brad Pitt, using fake personalized stationery to send her a ridiculous gift. During an episode of New Heights, Clooney said, “I had Brad Pitt stationery that Kimmel gave me again… I sent [Meryl Streep] a book of dialect CDs… and I go, ‘Dear Meryl, from Brad… this guy helped me in my accent in the movie Troy, and I thought maybe you could use it.’” Clooney confirmed she didn’t find out until four years later when he told her in person.

Clooney described several elaborate pranks during the show, including one where he used fake presidential stationery from Bill Clinton to send actors congratulatory notes for mediocre performances. He believed some actors might have framed the letters, unaware they were fake. These pranks showcased his long-running habit of playing practical jokes on fellow actors, often targeting Brad Pitt, with whom he shares a well-known friendly rivalry.

The New Heights episode featured George Clooney as a guest alongside hosts Jason and Travis Kelce. Clooney discussed his friendship with Pitt and confirmed they are working on another Ocean’s movie. He revealed, “Yeah, we’re scouting locations. Everything’s been agreed to… We’ve got a really good script.”

The prank on Meryl Streep is part of a larger pattern of Clooney’s humor. He noted, “We’ve done a lot of terrible things to each other. He’s [Pitt] done terrible things to me.” Despite these antics, the relationships remain friendly and mutual.
