Gavin Newsom may not be the right man to lead the US in the future, according to some. And Halle Berry doesn’t seem to think so, questioning his stance on one particular issue. Specifically, the Academy Award-winning actress didn’t appreciate the California Governor vetoing a bill supporting medical care for menopausal women on multiple occasions.
Last year, she publicly advocated for more research and education about menopause, supporting a bill introduced by Senators Patty Murray and Lisa Murkowski.
Gavin has previously confirmed he’s considering making a run for the White House in 2028.
Halle Berry doesn’t want Gavin Newsom to be President

If Gavin Newsom decides to seek the Democratic nomination in three years, he likely won’t get Halle’s endorsement. The actress slammed the Governor in a speech at a New York Times DealBook Summit. Halle accused him of devaluing women while saying, “he probably should not be our next president either.”
A spokesperson for the Governor claims that he vetoed the menopause bill because it would have raised the health care costs for millions of working women. They add that Gavin has deep admiration for the actress’ advocacy. They express confidence that they could expand access to essential menopausal treatment.
In her speech, Halle said the days of outliving men by doing it in poor health are over. She said women deserve better. She believes that there is still plenty to uncover if you are a woman navigating midlife. In February, Halle shared with Drew Barrymore that a health scare changed her sex life.
Halle had previously spoken candidly about experiencing a rough start to menopause. She’s said that she was never properly educated on the matter. That’s what prompted her to found Respin Health, a company that advocates for menopause care.
Gavin’s final term as Governor in California will come to an end in January 2027.
