Kate Middleton Brings Back Queen Victoria’s Tiara With 2,600 Diamonds

Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, has consistently impressed her fans and foes alike with her impeccable fashion sense, and this time she wowed all with Queen Victoria’s Oriental Circlet tiara. From absolutely gorgeous to statement-worthy, she has managed to serve it all. And she did it all with her brand of royal class and charm.

That’s exactly what she did with her latest look, accessorized with Queen Victoria’s tiara. Last Night, the mother of three displayed her panache in all its glory, yet again, at the state banquet hosted by Britain’s Royal Family in honor of the German president, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, and his wife, Elke Büdenbender. The dinner was hosted at Windsor Castle.

For the state banquet for the German president, Kate Middleton chose to add some spectacular bling to her outfit with one of the most elaborate tiaras one has ever seen her don. This historic piece of art, known as the Oriental Circlet, was created for Queen Victoria in 1853 by none other than her partner, King Albert.

The unique, diamond-studded, Indian lotus-inspired design was created by Mughal artisans, which is what makes it so distinctive. It was initially made with opals and 2,600 well-shaped diamonds. However, once Queen Alexandra inherited the crown, she had the opals replaced with the Burmese rubies. This was the first time the statement piece had been donned by a royal in about two decades.

But that’s not all. For this special occasion, Middleton also wore a floor-length icy blue Jenny Packham gown, which was beautifully laden with sequin work. The fitted bodice and pleated skirt further added to her grace. The sheer cape over her shoulders added a rather regal and almost fairytale-like touch to her overall look.

Even Middleton’s natural-looking makeup with lightly blushed cheeks and nude lipstick elevated her fashion choices. Her delicate waves added to the regal attire as well. From the tiara and the sparkles, all the way to the makeup choices and her hairstyle, everything was simply stunning.
