90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days Season 8 has officially arrived! The two-hour premiere was no disappointment, introducing several new couples, each with their own unique backstory. Before the 90 Days follows Americans who travel abroad to meet their international love interests for the first time ever. While there is usually love in the air, the journeys typically also come with secrets, drama, and sometimes even heartbreak.
While many elements of the couples’ stories this season are shocking, the premiere revealed some particularly surprising secrets. Some of these secrets could potentially make or break the couple’s relationships.
The 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days Season 8 premiere introduced several new couples to the franchise
The Before the 90 Days Season 8 premiere introduced four of the eight new 90 Day Fiancé couples featured this season. Emma Perry and Ziad El Yahyaoui were the first couple to meet, although things didn’t start off on the best note. Laura Nevenner prepared to travel to Turkey to meet her boyfriend Birkan, while Rick Van Vactor got ready to go see his girlfriend Trisha, in Madagascar. After a seven-year online relationship, Forrest began packing up to go meet his girlfriend Sheena, in the Philippines.
Emma Perry didn’t tell Ziad El Yahyaoui that she had previously been engaged to another Moroccan man
Emma and Ziad met online on an international dating app and had an instant connection. After about a year, Emma decided to pack up her bags and go to Morocco to visit Ziad. However, she has kept a huge secret from him. Emma hasn’t confessed that she was previously engaged to another man in Morocco. To make matters even more complicated, Emma temporarily ghosted Ziad at the beginning of their relationship in hopes of working things out with her ex. Once Ziad finds out about Emma’s secret, it could change their entire relationship.
Laura Nevenner’s best friend Michal might have feelings for her, despite her relationship with Birkan
During the premiere, Laura introduced viewers to her best friend Michal. While she and Michal are only friends, she explained that they often get mistaken for a couple due to their close relationship. However, Laura believes that Michal has developed romantic feelings toward her since she started dating her Turkish boyfriend Birkan. Michal now wants to travel to Turkey with Laura, although she’s worried it would upset Birkan. This is somewhat similar to Before the 90 Days Season 7, where Veah Netherton took her ex Rory with her to meet Sunny Mahdi. Hopefully, Laura and Michal can work through things without either of them getting hurt.
Rick Van Vactor is hiding an unknown secret from Trisha
Rick is excited to travel to Madagascar to meet his girlfriend Trisha, although he has some doubts. Several weeks before his trip, Trisha ghosted Rick for a period of five days. Rick was concerned that Trisha may have gone back to her ex, as she gave him a confusing story about having the police called on her when she returned. However, Trisha isn’t the only one potentially hiding something. Rick revealed that he has a secret regarding those five days as well, although he didn’t confess what it was. Secrets are common in the 90 Day Fiancé universe, but viewers are still extremely curious as to what Rick could be hiding.
Forrest was scammed by an Indonesian woman prior to his relationship with Sheena
Forrest’s relationship with Sheena surprised viewers in many ways. One of the most interesting aspects are the 24/7 security cameras Forrest has all over his house for Sheena’s constant viewing. However, Forrest’s mother Molly, is more concerned that Sheena may not have the best intentions with Forrest. Two times throughout their seven-year relationship, Sheena has told Forrest that her parents have taken money from their joint account.
While Forrest blames Sheena’s parents, Molly isn’t convinced that Sheena is innocent. Part of her suspicion stems from the fact that Forrest was ultimately scammed in another international relationship, with an Indonesian woman many years prior. Hopefully, Forrest and Sheena can get to the bottom of things once they meet and not repeat history.
