Greta Lin and Matthew are one of several couples featured on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way Season 7. The couple originally met on a vegan dating app while Greta was traveling in Matthew’s home country of England. After their first date, Greta felt that their connection was undeniable. The pair shared common values and couldn’t seem to get enough of each other.
Once their relationship got more serious, the couple decided that Greta would move to England to be with Matthew. This meant that Greta had to make some serious sacrifices, including temporarily parting from her cat Hazel and postponing her legal career. While Greta was once sure that Matthew was worth the sacrifices, their relationship has slowly begun to go downhill. Can the couple work past their newfound issues, or will their relationship end in heartbreak by the end of the season?
Greta Lin had doubts about her move to England from the start on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way Season 7
Before she moved to England, Greta had several concerns about her plan. One of her biggest worries was that she would be living in Matthew’s parents’ house, which wasn’t the most spacious. She was worried that she’d feel like a burden and that she wouldn’t be able to feel at home. Greta also had to leave her cat Hazel behind in America, as Matthew’s family cat wouldn’t be able to adjust to her. This was incredibly difficult for Greta, since she and Hazel are very close.
Another inconvenience was the fact that Greta would be forced to postpone her legal career to move to England. Greta recently graduated from law school and passed the Bar Exam. However, since she isn’t licensed to practice law in England, she was forced to put her career on hold. This was another big sacrifice for Greta, especially considering the rigor of the law school process.
After arriving in England, Greta realized she and Matthew are more different than she realized
While Greta hoped seeing Matthew would ease her worries, her feelings only grew more complicated once she arrived in England. When Greta saw how small Matthew’s room was, her concerns over their living arrangements became even more apparent. Matthew assured her that he would make more room for her, but Greta didn’t feel at home in his family’s cottage.
Greta and Matthew eventually started looking for a place of their own, where yet another concern came up. When Matthew suggested that a second bedroom would be perfect for their future children, Greta was quickly alarmed. She hadn’t told Matthew that she was now unsure about having kids, which caused her to have doubts. Matthew had been clear about wanting to become a father, which made Greta question if she was still the right woman for him.
Greta ultimately admitted to Matthew that she doesn’t feel she loves him anymore
After Greta told Matthew about her new feelings regarding children, he took it rather well. He admitted that he would choose Greta over having kids if it really came down to it. However, Greta felt guilty for putting him in the situation and didn’t want him to regret his decision later on. Despite constant reassurance from Matthew, Greta still wasn’t sure if she was ready to stay with him.
Recently, during an emotional dinner, Greta came clean to Matthew about all of her doubts. She told him that she was thankful they had met, but that she was no longer sure she loved him. In confessionals, Greta discussed feeling a lack of connection with Matthew leading up to the move. This really changed her perspective on the relationship and made her question whether she wanted to be with Matthew long term.
While Greta and Matthew were initially one of the more optimistic couples on Season 7, things have taken a turn. Despite Matthew being all in, Greta’s concerns are multiplying by the minute. It’s not clear what the future holds for the couple, but it isn’t looking overly positive at the moment.
