Al Pacino sparked marriage rumors after he was spotted wearing a wedding band at an event for One Battle After Another. However, a representative for the actor cleared the air, telling PEOPLE that the Godfather star “is not married.”

Pacino was last involved with the 32-year-old Kuwaiti American producer Noor Alfallah, with whom he welcomed a son, Roman Pacino, in June 2023. The actor confirmed in late 2024 in an interview with PEOPLE that he and Alfallah had split, telling the outlet that they had a “friendship” and were not in a relationship. A representative added that Pacino and Alfallah were “good friends” and “co-parents” to their son.

The Dog Day Afternoon actor, who has famously remained unmarried, has previously addressed the possibility of marriage. In an interview with the Boston Herald in 2015, Pacino said that while he did not expect to get married late in life, he had not ruled out the possibility of tying the knot.

“Of course it’s possible [I’ll get married],” he said. “It seems beside the point, though. I mean, yeah. I have no idea, but I never say never.” He continued, “I don’t think of marriage that way, but it’s very possible that this could happen.”

However, in his 2024 memoir, Sonny Boy, he admitted his disinterest in marriage, which he called “an entrance to the pain train.” He said, “Everything’s a ticket to the pain train. A ticket or nothing. Are you going to go or not? No, I’ll stay here. I’ll stay here at the station, I’m not getting on.” Pacino further stated that although marriage could work for people, it didn’t work for him for “some reason.”
