Lucy Liu’s son reportedly hasn’t watched much of his mother’s on-screen work. During an interview, Liu claimed that her kid has no clue how “cool” his mom is. According to the 10-year-old, the actress is good at “basic mom stuff,” including making chicken dishes and heating “lasagna.”
For those unversed, the “Charlie’s Angels” star is a single parent to Rockwell Lloyd Liu, whom she welcomed through surrogacy in August 2015. She has often kept her personal life private; however, the mother-son duo won hearts with adorable photos from the Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremony in 2019.

Lucy Liu recently opened up about what her son, Rockwell Lloyd Liu, thinks of her. In an interview with PEOPLE, she revealed that the toddler doesn’t “know how cool” she is. “But he knows that I can make a killer piece of chicken, and I can heat up a nice lasagna.” Although the 10-year-old has not watched much of his mom’s work, he has “probably” seen “Red One.”
It was a 2024 “live-action” movie, starring Chris Evans and Dwayne Johnson. Liu revealed that Rockwell was nine when he watched the film, mostly because he was “probably just a little bit under the gun.” The Hollywood star said, “But now, after he’s gotten over some of the scary creatures, he really loves it.”
Furthermore, the 57-year-old praised her kid, stating how much she loves him. Liu considers him her “greatest teacher” and hopes he is “proud” of her. Liu explained that she has “never learned so much” in as little time as she has while raising her son. “And I thought I knew it all when I was 16. Wow! What’s happening?”
Meanwhile, the Primetime Emmy nominee has recently appeared in a new movie, “Rosemead,” which seems to be based on a true story. It’s about an ailing mother and his violent teenage son.
