There seems to be a battle for the spotlight going on at Good Morning America. Meteorologist Ginger Zee and host Lara Spencer appear to be locked in a war for more attention.
According to a source, the strong wills of both women are fuelling this supposed feud. They add that when the other thinks someone’s stepping in their lane, “they get territorial.” It sounds like battle lines have now been “revealed.” The intensity between the two may be putting the senior member of the staff in a very uncomfortable position.
GMA co-hosts Ginger and Lara are allegedly battling for Robin Roberts’ attention
For decades, Robin Roberts has been a respected host tackling news stories of every kind at a high standard. Her reputation seems to be indirectly causing infighting among her colleagues, though at GMA.
Like two kids desperate for their mother’s attention, it sounds like Ginger and Lara are trying their best to outshine each other and earn Robin’s admiration. “Everyone wants to be Robin’s favorite,” a staffer shared to RadarOnline. A veteran at the control room of the show alleges that during commercials, the studio temperature plunges with Ginger and Zee in the middle of things often. “Lara and Ginger both want story ownership,” claims another source.
That reportedly has some insiders in a bit of a panic behind the scenes. The alleged feud has some worried about the show’s future, with the program being a staple for 50 years. Over that time, the show’s been renowned for getting exclusive stories and interviews, including a post-prison sit down with Teresa Giudice in 2016.
Some of the apparent bad blood between Lara and Ginger may stem from GMA hosts DeMarco Morgan and Eva Pilgrim announcing their departures over the summer. It’s possible that Lara and Ginger are fearful that the network is looking to cut people, or maybe they’re each vying for more screen time as a result.
Robin has won numerous awards in her decorated career on the air. In 2014, she captured the Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Journalism.
