As Taylor Swift prepares for the premiere of her “The Eras Tour” docuseries, “The End of an Era,” the singer will head back to Stephen Colbert’s talk show on Wednesday. “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” announced the appearance with a playful video. In the clip, Colbert dances around, celebrating Swift’s “Opalite” from her latest album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” ending with the host teasing their famously lighthearted dynamic.
Taylor Swift to appear on Stephen Colbert’s talk show before Eras Tour docuseries premiere
Ahead of the release of her “Eras Tour” docuseries, the Instagram account of Stephen Colbert’s talk show shared the announcement video on Monday, revealing that Taylor Swift will be appearing on December 10.
The video featured Colbert dancing around while Swift’s track, “Opalite,” played in the background. He finally ended with a throwback moment from her 2021 appearance, where she playfully says, “Hey, Stephen” — a nod to her 2008 track on “Fearless.”
When Colbert insisted the song must be about him, Swift laughed and reminded him, “No, Stephen. I first recorded that song in 2008. I think I was like 18.” She even poked fun at him by saying, “Don’t flatter yourself. ‘Hey Stephen’ is not about you — anymore than my album 1989 is about the year you spent waiting tables on the lunch shift at Scoozi.” She later jokingly revealed the song was about author Stephen King.
Swift’s upcoming appearance comes just two days before “The End of an Era” premieres. The six‑episode docuseries promises a close look at how “The Eras Tour” came together and the impact it has had around the world, with the first two episodes airing on December 12. Two more episodes will drop the following week, with the last two episodes airing the week after that.
On December 12, Disney+ will also premiere “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour: The Final Show,” a full recording of her final tour stop in Vancouver. Taylor Swift’s return to Stephen Colbert’s talk show adds another standout moment to a month that will celebrate her “The Eras Tour” docuseries and a live concert film.
