Prince William and Kate Middleton’s new home, Forest Lodge, has once again stirred outrage among locals. While the royal family moved to their “forever home” last month, the neighbors have reportedly still been upset about the changes. According to a recent report, nearby residents labelled the future king and queen “selfish.” They’re allegedly unhappy with the couple imposing “a 2.3-mile personal exclusion area” around their new property.
Locals unhappy with Prince William and Kate Middleton’s Forest Lodge move — report
Prince William and Kate Middleton moved to their new home, Forest Lodge, last month. They will reportedly continue living in this estate even after they become the king and queen. For a while, reports about the renovations and tight security measures caught attention. Additionally, unhappy locals expressed their disappointment.
Recently, a neighbor named Tina spoke to The Mirror and claimed that she was “upset” about the royal couple’s decision. It came after William and Middleton took over around 150 acres of space that was previously accessible to the public. For security purposes, CCTV cameras and fences restricted the area for the locals.
According to Tina, “closing Cranbourne Gate car park and an area of land behind the Forest Lodge” was a huge blow to the residents. She complained that people who have been taking walks in the park for several years have now been reportedly banned from entering. Moreover, dog walkers like her have been struggling to locate a new area for the pets.
“It’s clearly a selfish act, allowing a huge amount of public land to be closed,” she told the publication. The royals’ neighbor believed that the Waleses didn’t give “a second thought to the implications for others.” The informant further revealed the ordeals of other locals, claiming that they have reportedly been “outrageous.” According to her, one of the locals even cried when they learned about it.
Meanwhile, the Prince and Princess of Wales moved to their “forever home” with their kids — Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
