Taylor Swift hardly ever lets go of a chance to give fans an Easter Egg, and her recent appearance wearing an opal bracelet might just be another. The stunning bracelet was a part of the “Willow” singer’s jewelry during her appearance on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” on December 10.
Taylor Swift’s vintage opal bracelet might be a reference to her song ‘Opalite’
A day after dining with Este Haim, Taylor Swift arrived at the studio to record her interview on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert”. For the interview, she donned a burgundy velvet David Koma minidress, along with several statement jewelry pieces, including her custom engagement ring. However, the one piece that stole the show was her 18KT Opal Estate Bracelet from Danes Road Antiques.
Sarah Chapelle, who documents Swift’s fashion on her Instagram account @taylorswiftstyled, revealed that Nikki McVean sourced the piece last year during an antique show in Brimfield. McVean also took to Instagram to express her excitement at seeing the songstress wearing the vintage opal bracelet on the show. She stated that it was a “full circle moment” for her and her girls.
The bracelet becomes even more meaningful with its subtle nod to the song “Opalite” from Swift’s latest album, “The Life of a Showgirl.” In the song, she sings about finding love and happiness with her fiancé, Travis Kelce, after her previous heartbreaks. During an interview on Capital FM Breakfast, she explained, “I thought it was kind of a cool metaphor that, like, it’s a man-made opal and happiness can also be man-made, too. That’s what the song is about, the juxtaposition of those two.”
Opal also happens to be Kelce’s birthstone, and this was not the first time Swift wore this gemstone. She notably wore a large opal ring at her 34th birthday party. A few days after her birthday, she shared an Instagram carousel in which she could be seen wearing the gorgeous ring with an opal at the center and a halo of blue gemstones surrounding it.
