Two iconic fantasy worlds are about to collide! Beloved Game of Thrones star, Kit Harington, will voice Professor Gilderoy Lockhart in the much-anticipated Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets audiobook, which debuts on 16th December.
Kit Harington will play Professor Lockhart in new Harry Potter audiobooks
The Harry Potter cohort is expanding … and Kit is about to join. The Game of Thrones actor, who played Jon Snow across all eight series of the hit show, will voice Professor Gilderoy Lockhart in the audiobook adaptation of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
Fans of the beloved Harry Potter series will already be familiar with Professor Gilderoy Lockhart. He is the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher at Hogwarts. In the 2002 movie, Professor Lockhart was played by Kenneth Branagh. And he really made the role his own … so Kit will have some big boots to fill!
Joining Kit on the Chamber of Secrets audiobook is Frankie Treadaway as a young Harry Potter. Other castmates include Max Lester as Ron Weasley and Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger. Hugh Laurie will voice Albus Dumbledore, and Riz Ahmed is Professor Snape.
And there’s more! Michelle Gomez voices Professor McGonagall, Matthew Macfadyen plays Lord Voldemort, Simon Pegg is Arthur Weasley and Alex Hassell takes on Lucius Malfoy. Meanwhile, Cush Jumbo narrates the second audiobook.
Fans of the Harry Potter series – audio and otherwise – have been eagerly awaiting the second audiobook’s release. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone debuted last month, and the third book will be released on 13th January. The next instalments will then be released throughout 2026, with the final audiobook dropping in May.
