Whoopi Goldberg has called out President Donald Trump over insensitive comments he made in light of Rob Reiner’s murder. The Hollywood director – who worked on the likes of When Harry Met Sally and Misery – was found dead at home alongside his wife, Michele Reiner, on 14th December.

Just hours after director Rob and his wife were found murdered, President Trump took to Truth Social to share a message.
Writing on the social media platform, Trump described Rob as “tortured and struggling,” and branded him a “once very talented movie director.”
After that, Trump speculated on the motive behind the husband and wife’s killing. “Reportedly [it’s] due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind-crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME,” the US President wrote.
“He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession [with] President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness,” he continued.
It’s these comments that prompted Whoopi to question if the President has any “shame” while appearing on The View.
“This is a tragedy, not just for the family, but for all who knew and loved him,” the actor said. Whoopi, who worked with Rob on Ghosts of Mississippi, then described Trump’s comments as “shameful” and “disgraceful.”
“Out of all the disgusting things Donald Trump has done, this is right up there,” she said. “Have you no shame? No shame at all? Can you get any lower? I don’t think so.”
In conclusion, Whoopi moved the focus away from the President and ended her commentary with thoughts for Rob’s family. “Our hearts are breaking through all of this,” she said.
