Candace Owens’ new book has sparked attention for multiple strong claims, and one of the most discussed sections is about Taylor Swift. Owens reportedly used part of her book, “Make Him a Sandwich: Why Real Women Don’t Need Fake Feminism,” to criticize Swift’s past relationships and the way she believed the singer handled breakups. The comments instantly drew notice because Owens goes into detail about Swift’s dating history, revisiting the fallout from her split with Calvin Harris.
Candace Owens reportedly slams Taylor Swift in her book
RadarOnline exclusively reported that Candace Owens wrote about the period after Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris ended their relationship. The news became public that “The Fate of Ophelia” hitmaker took part in writing Harris’ 2016 hit song, “This Is What You Came For,” with Rihanna.
Owens claimed that Harris believed Swift’s side leaked the information and included his public response. It read, “Hurtful to me at this point that [Swift] and her team would go so far out of their way to try and make ME look bad at this stage,” adding, “Won’t allow it.” Moreover, Owen added her own take by saying this moment was the “closest that any man had come to calling out Taylor’s pattern of abuse.”
Owens went on to argue that Swift “enters relationship after relationship, and then, on the way out, she attempts to utilize an ill-informed army of teens to settle the score.” Later, the commentator noted that Katy Perry once called Swift “Regina George in sheep’s clothing,” adding the quote directly in her discussion of the singer’s reputation.
Owens has made headlines before for criticizing public figures, and her new book continues that pattern. Besides Swift, she also wrote about Madonna, claiming the pop icon struggles with aging. Her remarks about Swift stand out because they revisit old public rifts and bring attention to past relationships that both Swift and Harris have potentially moved on from.
