Donald Trump’s Response To Rob Reiner’s Death Leads To Fan Outrage

Donald Trump recently took to social media to comment on Rob Reiner‘s passing. Reiner was found dead with his wife at his Los Angeles home. He was a Democratic Party supporter who had publicly criticized Trump in the past, including calling him “unqualified” for the presidency. Trump’s latest remarks on Reiner’s death have since drawn backlash. Many have criticized his timing and the nature of his comments during a period of mourning.

Donald Trump slammed by fans over his Rob Reiner post

Trump took to Truth Social to share a note about Reiner’s demise, which sparked widespread backlash. He began the post by writing, “A very sad thing happened last night in Hollywood.” While discussing Reiner’s passing, Trump referred to him as “tortured and struggling,” and said he once believed him to be a “talented movie director and comedy star.” He also claimed that Reiner passed away because of the anger he spread by opposing him.

He said that his death was caused “due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind-crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS.”

His note further read, “He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness, and with the Golden Age of America upon us, perhaps like never before. May Rob and Michele rest in peace!”

Trump‘s insensitive comments didn’t sit well with many individuals, who took to social media to share their thoughts. A user wrote, “this is an absolute embarrassment coming from the President of the US. You’re supposed to be setting a higher standard when you’re just being petty Make Empathy Great Again.” Another one wrote, “This is a comment from a disgusting human being. His family should get him the help he needs.” A third one wrote, “Demented and gross.” Apart from fans, several individuals from the political landscape also expressed their disappointment over Trump’s remarks.

David Axelrod, former chief strategist to President Barack Obama, wrote, “The absence of empathy & grace for the Reiner family in their moment of profound loss and grief is sad and revealing. For @POTUS, his grievances trump their grief.” Congressman Mike Lawler also tweeted, “Regardless of one’s political views, no one should be subjected to violence, let alone at the hands of their own son. It’s a horrible tragedy that should engender sympathy and compassion from everyone in our country, period.” Thomas Massie, Chris Murphy, Jasmine Crockett, and others also condemned Trump’s comments.
