John Stamos hasn’t forgotten about where he got his big break and one of those who helped him along the way. The Full House alum is reflecting on his time working on General Hospital, where he met Anthony Geary. The man who collected eight Daytime Emmy Awards died on Sunday due to complications from a surgical procedure.
His death occurred in Amsterdam on the same day that Hollywood lost famed director Rob Reiner. He and his wife Michele were found stabbed to death at their Brentwood home Sunday afternoon. The tragedies that took place this past weekend were not lost on John.
John Stamos called Anthony Geary “one of a kind”

It’s been decades since John last appeared on General Hospital, but even now, he still has fond memories of working with Anthony. The Soapy Award winner expressed sorrow over Anthony’s death at the same time as Rob’s.
He calls Anthony’s death a heartbreaking moment. He talked about how impressed he was with Anthony’s acting while working together on General Hospital. “I was mesmerized by his acting,” said John on Instagram. “He was truly one of a kind,” added John. It wowed him so much that a 19-year-old John says he’d stay after his scenes were done to watch and learn from Anthony.
From 1982 to 1984, John portrayed Blackie Parrish on the soap opera, earning a Daytime Emmy nomination for his work. According to John, Anthony was incredibly real and had a strong dedication to his craft. Fans of John were surprised to see how in shape he still was at 62. He showed off a shirtless photo of himself in August for his birthday.
He says that it meant the world to him that Anthony was there when he got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2009. Anthony returned to General Hospital in 2008, appearing in an episode of General Hospital: Night Shift. He was 78
