Hollywood is still in shock following the deaths of Rob Reiner and his wife Michele. The couple was discovered dead at their Brentwood home on Sunday, with reports indicating a stabbing.
Hours before the tragedy, the couple were supposed to meet with their longtime friends Michelle and Barack Obama. The former First Lady revealed that during a late-night talk show appearance on Monday. While she looked back on their friendship, Michelle also had a message for the US President who’s had some harsh words since Rob’s death.

You can add Michelle Obama to the list of people disgusted by the President’s remarks about Rob. On Truth Social, Donald Trump took a massive shot at the late Hollywood actor/director, calling him deranged and claiming he struggled because of this. It’s a statement he didn’t back down from in a press conference, saying that, for him, Rob was bad for the country.
On Monday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! Michelle had this indirect response to the President. “Rob and Michele Reiner are some of the most decent, courageous people you ever want to know. They are not deranged or crazed.” She adds that they have always been “passionate people in a time when there’s not a lot of courage going on.”
Rob took issue with Donald and his administration, expressing concern about the country’s direction months before his death. Evidently, the President hadn’t forgotten what the Princess Bride director said about him. Michelle is one of many who have expressed their dismay with Donald over his harsh words to Rob. The View co-host Ana Navarro called the President’s rant “shameful.”
Rob and Michele’s son Nick has been arrested in connection with their deaths and is facing murder charges. Nick and his dad were said to be having an intense argument at Conan O’Brien’s Christmas party on Saturday, the night before the tragedy. Nick’s bail has been set for $4 million.
Michelle also promoted her new book, The Look, which came out in November.
