Gwyneth Paltrow’s Son Hid His Eyes During Timothée Chalamet’s Sex Scenes

Gwyneth Paltrow may have been celebrating her return to the big screen at the premiere of “Marty Supreme,” but one family member had a slightly more complicated viewing experience. The actress brought her children, Apple and Moses Martin, to the event and later revealed that while her 19-year-old son enjoyed most of the film, there were a few moments he definitely didn’t want to see.

Gwyneth Paltrow reveals how son responded to Timothee Chalamet’s sex scenes

During an appearance on “Late Night With Seth Meyers,” Paltrow shared that Moses “loved” “Marty Supreme” but had a very predictable reaction when it came to her romantic scenes with co-star Timothée Chalamet. According to the actress, her son immediately shielded his face when the intimate moments began. “He was like this the whole time,” she said, mimicking him covering his eyes, adding with a laugh, “He’s not into that.”

Paltrow noted that she did “warn” him ahead of time, something she learned to do after once failing to prepare her grandfather for a topless scene in “Shakespeare in Love.” This time, she made sure Moses knew what was coming, though the warning apparently didn’t make it any less awkward for him.

The actress attended the New York premiere with both Apple, 21, and Moses, marking a meaningful red carpet milestone for the family. Paltrow stunned in a sleek black gown, while her children, whom she shares with ex-husband Chris Martin, each showed off their own polished style.

Despite their support, Paltrow admitted her kids typically avoid watching her films, preferring her role at home to her persona on screen. Apple, she said, took the on-screen romance in stride. Moses, however, was “mortified.”

Marty Supreme, set in 1950s New York, follows a young ping-pong prodigy chasing a dream no one takes seriously. Paltrow plays Kay Stone, a retired movie star who becomes romantically entangled with Chalamet’s character. The project marks one of Paltrow’s most high-profile returns to acting after stepping away to focus on family life and her wellness brand, Goop.

Reflecting on the experience, Paltrow said the timing felt right as her children headed off to college and she confronted the quiet of an “empty nest.”
