The Disturbing Story Behind the Book Lolita, Seen in New Jeffrey Epstein Images

One of the most polarizing novels ever written is back in the spotlight over 70 years after its original publication. The Lolita story by Vladimir Nabokov, depicts a professor’s obsession with his 12-year-old stepdaughter, whom he kidnaps and sexually abuses.

Many quotes from the book were on the bodies of unidentified women. It’s believed they may have been victims of Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking. The X account of Oversight Dems put out the photos online.

While Lolita’s story has earned critical acclaim, it has also drawn significant backlash. When the novel came out in English, there was fear of censorship, which is why it was first published in France rather than the US, where Vladimir lived at the time.

Among the novel quotes written on women’s bodies in this latest Epstein reveal were “She was Dolly at school,” “She was Lola in slack,” and “She was Dolores on the dotted line.” Those photos, along with numerous foreign passports, ID cards, and texts, were in a Dropbox folder.

The 12-year-old girl in the story is Dolores, but the protagonist calls her Lolita in secret. Many critics have slammed the book, calling the title character, who goes by the pseudonym Humbert Humbert, a rapist. The 1962 film called Lolita, directed by Stanley Kubrick, got a Best Screenplay nomination based on Material from Another Medium.

At the time of his death in jail in 2019, Jeffrey was facing federal charges, including sex trafficking of minors. He had been awaiting trial on that matter and allegations of conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking.

The US Congress voted almost unanimously to pass a bill asking for the release of the Epstein Files. With President Donald Trump signing that bill, the files must come out by December 19 at the latest.
