Los Angeles Rams receiver Puka Nacua drew attention this week by blaming Taylor Swift for the Kansas City Chiefs’ collapse. The remark came on social media when the Chiefs confirmed an early exit from playoff contention. The conversation also dived deeper into injuries this season and what comes next for the franchise, including Travis Kelce.
Rams star says Taylor Swift cursed Chiefs amid playoff exit
Puka Nacua commented on a casual livestream with YouTubers Adin Ross and N30n. He first noted the football reasons for Kansas City’s struggles, such as missing wide receiver Rashee Rice and a weak running game. He then joked, “It’s got to be the Swift curse or something like that, I don’t know… after they ran out of a little bit of the juice.”
Earlier in the same stream, he said more directly, “I mean, they didn’t have Rashee Rice… I don’t feel like they ran the ball well. [Isiah] Pacheco was their running back, right? I don’t feel like he played really good.”
These comments came as Kansas City’s playoff hopes ended. Critics and commentators point to football issues like an offense that stalled at key moments, injuries, and a late-season losing streak.
Among the most notable blows, quarterback Patrick Mahomes suffered a season-ending ACL injury on a fourth-quarter scramble. This has shifted the discussion from postseason hopes to rehab and roster planning for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Taylor Swift’s presence at Chiefs games has been a recurring media story since she was first seen at Arrowhead Stadium. She attended the Chiefs’ 2024 Super Bowl run, but has kept a lower public profile at games this season.
A Daily Mail report cited a source saying, “Taylor has wanted to feel much more protected this year with her security, especially with her current stalker issues.” They added that she did not want her whereabouts publicly known.
