Kim Kardashian Cries While Studying For Bar Exam Which She Failed

Kim Kardashian shared a sad moment of her life where she is crying upon seeing her results on the California bar exam. After six years of study and long hours of prep, the reality star told cameras she was exhausted, injured, and overwhelmed. Kim later shared that she did not pass the July test. Despite the setback, she has said she will keep working toward the goal.

Kim Kardashian, crying, tearfully spoke about the pressure and pain on the December 18 episode of The Kardashians. “I’m absolutely gonna cry, cause it’s f—— exhausting,” she told the cameras. She said she had “hit a wall” with her studying and was struggling physically after a back injury. Kim continued, “I threw my back out… I can hardly walk, I can hardly f—— sit.”

The injury made a hard task harder. Kim said the combination of physical pain and prolonged study left her shocked at how emotional she became. “I just knew that wasn’t me ’cause I’m not that person, but I get it. It’s really a lot. Now I really, really get it,” she said during the episode. She also described the difficulty of holding so much new information in her head. She expressed, “I don’t know how I can get any more information into my brain.”

At one point, she told producers she worried she might not take the exam again if she failed, saying she would not have time for a few years and worried about the changes that come with age. After learning she did not pass, Kim posted to Instagram that she was disappointed but not done.

“Well…I’m not a lawyer yet, I just play a very well-dressed one on TV,” she wrote, adding that “Failing short isn’t failure — it’s fuel.” Kim also reassured followers that she would continue studying until she passes.

Kim has been studying law since around 2019 and previously passed California’s “baby bar” in December 2021 after earlier attempts. Family and friends have supported her through the process. They celebrated her law school graduation earlier in 2025.
