Here’s Why Kylie Kelce Is Weaning Infant off Breastfeeding

Parenting decisions are rarely simple, and Kylie Kelce is being refreshingly honest about hers. The mom of four recently opened up about why she’s choosing to wean her youngest daughter off breastfeeding, even admitting the reason might sound “selfish.” Rather than dressing it up, Kelce shared her truth plainly, reminding parents everywhere that setting boundaries is part of the journey.

At the Not Gonna Lie podcast, Kylie Kelce explained that her decision came as her 8-month-old daughter, Finn, began teething. While some parents continue breastfeeding through that phase, Kelce admitted that this is where she personally draws the line. She shared that breastfeeding once teeth come in is something she’s simply not comfortable with, and that honoring her own limits matters.

The former field hockey player and podcast host acknowledged that calling the decision “selfish” might raise eyebrows, but she stood by it. For Kelce, being a present, healthy parent means recognizing when something no longer works for her. She also pointed out that this is the longest she has breastfed any of her four daughters, with her previous children transitioning around the same age.

She also pointed out that breastfeeding is a privilege and not something every mother is able to do. “This is my choice, and it may not be the choice others would make,” she explained. Kelce added that she feels grateful she was able to breastfeed at all, noting that many people who want to do so aren’t always able to.

Kylie wrapped up her thoughts with a clear reminder of what matters most. “Fed is best,” she said, repeating it for emphasis. She added that “best” simply means doing what works for both the parent and the child.
