Cristina Grossu Biffle sent a sad text right before her and her family’s fatal plane crash. A new chilling text message has surfaced about what might have been the last words the wife of NASCAR driver Greg Biffle may have written.
Shortly before their plane crashed on Thursday, she messaged her mom saying, “We’re in trouble.” The Cessna Citation 500 private jet registered to the NASCAR driver crashed while attempting to land at Statesville Regional Airport in North Carolina.

The NASCAR world is reeling from the tragedy of Greg’s plane crash this week. Cristina’s mother, Cathy Grossu, shared the disturbing message her late daughter sent her before the plane went down. She tells People that the family is “devastated” and “brokenhearted” about what transpired.
Greg, Cristina, and their two kids, Emma and Ryder, were on board during the crash and all four died. The people seven on board were killed in the crash, including Dennis Dutton, his son Jack, and Craig Wadsworth. Greg’s family released a statement following the devastating news.
The plane reportedly crashed-landed just 26 minutes after taking off. It was supposed to go to Florida, though it appeared to be turning back minutes after take-off. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is investigating the cause of the crash.
According to Cathy, those on board were going to the Sunshine State for a birthday celebration. Greg was set to turn 56 on December 23.
Greg had an illustrious career in NASCAR, notably capturing the 2002 NASCAR Busch Series. From 2003 to 2016, he drove for Roush, winning 19 races in the No. 16 Ford. He was named the Rookie of the Year on the Busch Series in 2001. Two years ago, Greg was named one of NASCAR’s 75 Greatest Drivers.
