The trailer for the highly-anticipated Survivor Season 50 just dropped, and the reactions aren’t glowing. We were all eager to see a season full of returning players, leaning into the format that the world fell in love with. However, the trailer spent half of its time focusing on cameos from random celebrities like Zac Brown and MrBeast.
Survivor fans have been making their thoughts well-known online, and now, former players are weighing in, too. Kelley Wentworth, who appeared on two seasons, just shared her unfiltered thoughts about the trailer. She’s not sold.
MrBeast appears in the Survivor 50 trailer, and Kelley Wentworth is confused
The Survivor 50 trailer started like a normal Survivor trailer, showcasing the 24 returning players. Then, things suddenly went left when they started talking about a “Billie Eilish Boomerang Idol,” and Jimmy Fallon potentially determining their fate in the game. Plus, we see MrBeast on screen dropping a briefcase in front of the players like he’s on Deal or No Deal Island or something. It’s a lot, and Kelley couldn’t wrap her head around it.
Kelley said, “Excuse me, but what the f*ck is a Billie Eilish Boomerang Idol? Why is MrBeast putting a briefcase on a table, making an appearance on Survivor 50? Why do we see a musician rolling up on a boat? Is he going to give a performance at the Sanctuary?”
According to Kelley, she’s still trying to stay “positive” going into Survivor 50, but the trailer just made that way more difficult. Like many Survivor fans, she felt like these added twists and celebrity cameos could detract from the game we actually want to see.
“I thought we were done with the Tyler Perry Idols of it all,” Kelley moaned.
Of course, we can’t fully judge the season by the two-minute trailer. We might be in for the best season of all time — we’ll just have to stomach seeing MrBeast and a few other celebs along the way.
Survivor 50 premieres on Wednesday, February 2025, 2026 at 8/7c on CBS.
