Anthony Joshua, the two-time heavyweight champion, defeated Jake Paul, the social-media-star-turned-boxer, in a match held on December 19. The boxing match took place at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, and featured a high-profile showdown between Joshua and Paul.

Both fighters put up a tough fight, and the two-time world champion defeated Paul in the later stages of the match. As reported by The New York Times, Joshua was first interviewed by Ariel Helwani following his victory, during which he stated that it “wasn’t his best performance” and that he wanted to “pin down” and “hurt” his opponent.

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul have been boxing rivals for a long time. This is why it is always exciting for fans to watch their matches. In the latest bout on December 19 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Joshua defeated Paul and was declared the winner.

While the social media star fought hard to stay in the fight, Joshua knocked him down in the fifth round and again in the sixth round of the heavyweight contest.

In a conversation with Ariel Helwani post-match, Joshua expressed that he didn’t deliver his “best performance.” He further added that he wanted to “pin down” Paul and “hurt him.” The heavyweight champion said, “It took me longer than I expected.”

Praising his opponent’s game, he continued, “Jake Paul did really well and he deserves his props. It takes a real man to do that and he deserves respect for trying and trying and trying. But he came up against a real fighter tonight.”

The game was truly exciting and dramatic. In the sixth round, Paul briefly looked like he hurt himself as he twisted his feet. During the same round, he was knocked down by Joshua, making the match even more entertaining. At the end of the round, Joshua was declared the winner.
