While the rest of us are listening out for jingle bells at this time of year, it seems JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes are listening out for marriage bells! The pair, who met earlier this year on Celebrity Big Brother UK, just dropped a massive hint they’re about to get engaged.
JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes gave their thoughts on getting engaged
Speaking to The Sun about spending their first Christmas together, JoJo and Chris opened up about their romance. “You always get people [who] get engaged on Christmas or Christmas morning,” Chris told the newspaper. “I see [it] on Instagram every year.”
“I kinda like the idea of [an engagement] being at a time where it could be expected,” he continued. To that, JoJo replied that Chris is trying to keep her “guessing” about when he’ll propose.
But JoJo admitted she might not wait around … instead, she could be the one to pop the question. The Dance Moms star revealed she’d looked at buying a ring for Chris, but he said that made him “uncomfortable.”
“I’ve spoken to people about it, before you, obviously,” he said to JoJo. “And I actually said, if I was proposed to, that would make me really uncomfortable.” With that in mind, JoJo gave Chris a deadline of seven years. Unsurprisingly, though, he shut down the suggestion that she would have to wait that long.
“I don’t feel like anyone should take seven years,” the former Love Islander said. “It shouldn’t take seven years to work out if you want to marry someone.”
JoJo replied with a joke that she’d get “down on one knee” on 27th May 2032 if Chris hadn’t asked yet. “I will not wait one extra day,” she said, although, based on their romance so far, we don’t think she’ll have to!
