Lilly Allen’s daughters will get to witness her perform, which has left the singer “excited.” Recently, she revealed in an interview that her kids have rarely watched her perform. However, when they learned that their mom was a successful artist, they were impressed. For those unaware, the Grammy Awards nominee has two kids — Ethel (14) and Marnie (12) — with her first husband, Sam Cooper. Reportedly, the children also shared a close bond with David Harbour, whom she divorced at the beginning of this year.
Lily Allen is ‘delighted’ her two daughters would get to watch her perform
Lily Allen recently shared her thoughts on her two daughters getting to watch her perform. She told the Observer she was “delighted” for herself and her children as they would be witnessing her performance this time. The songwriter claimed that she had no expectations from her upcoming show, “especially after how ‘No Shame’ was received commercially.
“All of the indicators were that life is over. You know, that’s done. So to be here and selling out arenas is, frankly, insane,” she said. Her fifth album, “West End Girl,” has received a positive response. Hence, she would perform her latest record and has been “F***ing excited” as her daughters will get to watch it.
Allen revealed that her kids have only watched her onstage once when Olivia Rodrigo brought her in front of the audience at Glastonbury. At the time, she was overwhelmed with the crowd’s “insane” reaction. On top of that, she knew that her daughters were there. Allen said she was “conscious” of their presence and felt “strange.”
Later, her girls became curious about their celebrity mother. Narrating her interaction with them, Allen said, “And Marnie was like, ‘So were you, like, successful?’ And I said, yeah, I was. And she was like, ‘Like in the charts?’ I said yes, I was like No 1 in the charts.” The mother-daughter trio shared a wonderful moment as the children watched many videos of Allen being a successful singer.
