Donald Trump gave his first media address since the latest Jeffrey Epstein files were released. And he used the opportunity to defend a rather unlikely figure: Bill Clinton. The President said he “hated” to see that photos of Clinton had been published as part of the Epstein Files Transparency Act.
Bill Clinton was pictured in multiple photos from the Jeffrey Epstein files dump
Multiple photos of the former president were included in the latest batch of recently published Epstein files. In what we can only assume is a festive show of seasonal goodwill, Trump has come to Clinton’s defense.
He said at a recent media engagement: “I think it’s terrible. I like Bill Clinton … and I hate to see photos come out of him. I’ve always gotten along with Bill Clinton. I’ve been nice to him, he’s been nice to me. I hate to see photos come out of him, but this is what the Democrats, mostly Democrats and a couple of bad Republicans, are asking for.”
He added: “So they are giving photos of me too. Everybody was friendly with this guy [Epstein], either friendly or not friendly. He was all over Palm Beach and other places … and Bill Clinton was a friend of his, but everybody was.”
He noted that Clinton is “a big boy” and “can handle it,” adding “but you probably have pictures being exposed of other people that innocently met Jeffrey Epstein years ago.”
Trump also said he had once thrown Jeffrey Epstein out of his Mar-a-Lago resort.
During the same appearance, he claimed that the release of the files is a “way of trying to deflect from the tremendous success that the Republican Party has.”
Clinton featured in several photos released in the batch of files released on Friday. There was also a painting of him wearing a blue dress hung on the wall of Epstein’s house.
Meanwhile, an email signed by “A” asking for “inappropriate friends” was also found among the latest batch of documents.
