Kansas City Chiefs make huge announcement
The Kansas City Chiefs recently took to Instagram to announce that they are shifting their home game base to a new domed stadium in the state of Kansas. It read, “Today, we are excited to take another momentous step for the future of the franchise. We have entered into an agreement with the State of Kansas to host Chiefs football beginning with the 2031 NFL season. In the years ahead, we look forward to designing and building a state-of-the-art domed stadium and mixed-use district in Wyandotte County, and a best-in-class training facility, team headquarters, and a mixed-use district in Olathe, totaling a minimum of $4 billion of development in the State of Kansas.”
The statementmentioned that shifting the home game base to the new domed stadium will be “monumental” for the entire region. Building a top-notch stadium will also put the state in a position to host major events such as Super Bowls and other events. Moreover, a new training facility and headquarters are expected to attract new talent. The vision of this new district will also contribute to broader sports development in the country.
Further bidding adieu to the Arrowhead stadium in Missouri, the statement added, “Arrowhead reminds me of family memories and unforgettable moments. But the truth is, what makes Chiefs game days so special is you. Seats don’t make noise, concrete doesn’t intimidate opponents, parking lots don’t cook barbecue. You do.”
Chiefs Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt further expressed his gratitude to everyone involved with the team and stadium. Hunt expressed his enthusiasm for the final five seasons of home matches at Arrowhead Stadium. He also thanked the Chiefs Kingdom and looked forward to the upcoming chapter in the franchise.
